Go get a cheap 99 cent clear plastic painters drop cloth at the hardware store.  Lay it very flat on the top of your swim platform.  Using a sharpie, draw a line around your platform onto the plastic.  In the middle of the plastic write down the thickness of your platform at it’s thickest point.
