Choosing the Right Tow Rope and Handle

Tow ropes and handles connect the rider to the boat, and the right rope matters more than most riders realize. Different watersports use different ropes: wakeboard and ski ropes are typically low-stretch Spectra or polyethylene for consistent pull, while wakesurf ropes are shorter (usually 16 to 20 feet) and floatable for surfing the wave without holding the rope. Handles come in different grip widths and materials sized for hand fit and intended use. A worn or wrong rope affects how the boat tows the rider.
