Marine Flooring - SeaDek & GatorStep
SeaDek and GatorStep are both closed-cell EVA foam marine flooring materials with non-skid surface textures. Both protect the deck from sun and wear, both come in boat-specific kits cut to fit year and model, and both install with peel-and-stick adhesive backing. Customers often ask which to choose.
GatorStep tends to have a softer feel with more cushioning underfoot and is typically the lower-cost option. It works well for swim platforms, gunnel pads, full deck resurfaces, and custom logos or text. SeaDek has a firmer, denser feel and is the more recognized brand in the marine flooring market.
In practice, both materials perform comparably for protection and traction. The choice usually comes down to feel, price, and which has a pre-cut kit available for your specific boat. Browse the collections below for kits in your boat's year and model.
